No Time to Pray?

It was difficult for my friend to have extended time to pray during the day, so she said, "Lord, if You'll awaken me, I'll get up and pray."

Normally when she went to bed she was out for the night, but the first night she woke abruptly. She thought, What woke me up? There must have been a noise in the house.

Then it came to her, "Didn't you ask God to awaken you?"
She said, "Thank You, Lord," and got up and went out into the living room where she had the most precious time praying. There was no phone to answer, no schedule to meet, no one to take here or there. She just waited on the Lord, unhurried and unrushed. It was marvelous.

When she went to bed a couple of hours later, she thought, When that alarm goes off at 5:30, it's going to be a different story!

She was tired when the alarm rang, but the verse came to her, "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength." She said, "Thank You, Lord, I believe You're going to give me strength today."

Since then, every time God has awakened her during the night and she has gotten up, she has felt no more tired that she normally does at the end of her day.

Thank You, Lord, that You hear our simple requests for Your help to pray.

"The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.  He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them" (Psalm 145:18-19).
