God Preplanned Your Life

When someone asked me my favorite Scripture, I immediately replied Hebrews 4, a chapter on the rest we receive when we have fully surrendered to Jesus.

But there's an interesting thought in verse 10: "...anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his." I've been pondering what it means to enter God's rest. Genesis 2:2 says that God rested from all his work of creating the world and the plan of our great salvation.

But I think God was also resting from planning every detail of every individual for Acts 15:8 says, "Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world" (Acts 15:8 KJV). Also Ephesians 2:10 tells us God already has all our good works planned.

He thought of every difficulty we would encounter, and He provided all we would need. For every temptation, He could promise there would be a way of escape because He had planned it. No matter what choice we would make, He had a plan for good. "I know the plans [not just a plan] I have for you," God promises in Jeremiah 29.So when we are in trouble, we can enter into God's rest knowing, He has already thought about this time and planned god.

Our first GPS would say "Re-calculating" when I failed to follow her directions almost as if she wanted to scold me for not listening. But my current GPS is not like that. She just kindly re-directs me in the best way to go using my failure. When this has happened, I've thought of how kind Jesus is when I fail to follow the still small Voice. He gently continues to guide despite previous failures. He was not surprised and already had a plan.

Thank You, Father, for caring enough to already have planned every detail of my life.

"All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent" (Isa.28:29).
