The Amazing Story of How God Led Come to the Fire 2016 to Nashville, TN

This is Come to the Fire’s tenth anniversary! After nine annual conferences, God led us to take a sabbatical in 2015.

It was a year of prayer and fasting and seeking God’s will for the future. We thought when 2016 began, God would show us where to have another conference. We prayed, waited, and trusted, but the Holy Spirit seemed to be silent.

Then in June, God gave me the verse, “When the time had fully come”—a phrase from Galatians 4:4 speaking of Jesus’ coming. I knew He would reveal His plan for the conference in His perfect timing, and I felt it would be soon.

About two weeks later, as I was talking with our prayer coordinator Patsy Lewis, she mentioned verses in Deuteronomy: “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance…” (1:6, 7). The Spirit witnessed that, yes, it was time to start planning. Patsy and I even agreed on the date. November 10-12 was one of the dates the council had listed as being possibilities in our January meeting. I knew in my spirit that was the conference date even though we had no location.

On July 5, council member Rondy Smith heard from Pastor Bruce Oldham at First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville that Come to the Fire would be welcomed there! We were excited.

The word began to spread rapidly through emails and the Come to the Fire facebook page. Women said they would be fasting and praying. Within two days, women from 13 states and nine denominations had registered.

I invite you to join us in Nashville. Let’s pray earnestly for a gathering that brings revival and restoration to the body of Christ.

Come discover the joy of a love relationship with Jesus.
