Subject: Time to pray

As I look out of my kitchen window while washing my dishes the Lord brings someone to my mind for whom I should pray. I immediately breathe a prayer for that person while continuing to wash my dishes. I do not always know what the person needs, but the Lord knows and I do not argue with Him about that. I just pray for that person. After I breathe that prayer I know He has heard though I did not kneel down by my bed or chair to say those words. HE KNOWS THE NEED AND HE HEARS MY PRAYER! It is wonderful to know that it is that easy to communicate with our Heavenly Father!! I love Him!

It was so simple that I had missed it, I always thought, "when I get thru here I will go pray", duh! Thanks. The conference was wonderful, what a heart-changer!

Subject: finding time in your busy schedule

this quote has revolutionized my life. "Don't prioritize your schedule, schedule your priorities." God had been calling me to get up at 5am for prayer, when I obeyed I began to see things I could delegate or let go of in my schedule, and new, better things to add. Also, as far as cooperation from children...if my kids knock on the study door during my quiet time, I take care of their need and then give them a chore. They rarely knock.

Subject: Finding Time

I have a hard time finding time too. I have a full time job, am gone from home for 12 hours a day, get home and make dinner, do dishes, go to bed. Chores on weekend take up that time. I SOOO miss having my time in the mornings with God. My prayer has been that He will re-arrange my life so I have that daily time with Him again.

I found over the years that God wants us to take the first step even if it's only a baby step. So I think God is waiting for you to rearrange your life to fit Him in. Maybe that baby step is keeping a devotional book in the bathroom or a Christian praise CD in your car. Prayer can occur anywhere.

Subject: Article

When I read this article, I sat and cried. There are so many things that happens at our kitchen table and sweet Jesus has been there for many of them. I was reminded of a very special time that was very personal with King Jesus and I. It was my birthday and had planned to get up extra early and have the passover meal with him. Of course, I did not make it out of bed early, but Jesus still arranged for all the family to be out of the house early so it was just him and I. (That NEVER happens.) He sat with me that morning and reminded me that I am one of his very own! I learned from that morning on, the 20 minutes of sleep is not what I need....it is him that I TRULY need.

Comment on Karen Morerod's “Pray Without Ceasing...Really?” What helps you to pray without ceasing?

Subject: Praying without ceasing

At the age of 83 and just becoming a widow, I have learned a lot about "Praying without ceasing." I walk daily in an attitude of prayer knowing that the Lord is with me each step of the way. He brings good things to me each day--unexpectedly--and I immediately say "Thank you, Lord!" He is my constant companion! I talk to him constantly throughout the day as I feel Him at my side, giving me all my needs. I enjoy having him to talk to and to fellowship with. Sometimes we make it too hard to pray as we really do not realize He is right here by our sides. He is our companion and loves us. It is wonderful to have Him meeting all my needs and allowing me to talk to him continually as I would my husband if he were here with me. Thank you Lord for all your wonderful attention you give every moment of every day!!

Subject: It's hard to do what I know

It's like I know I should be doing good things like this but often I simply find it hard to actually do them. I don't know, maybe this is just me. But my life seems really really busy. It's like this sounds great for when men and my husband retire in 30 years. I just with I could do more.

I've found it very difficult to get my husband and kids to see to allow me to make prayer time a priority. Sometimes posting a big note on the frig helps. Othertimes... it's just a big struggle.

I find it helps to get up a half hour eariler than everyone and lock myself in the spare room (and I am SO not a morning person) - if you don't have a spare (prayer) room, make a closet or bathroom or even the car your prayer place. It helps to try to do it at the same time every day. Your family will benefit from your prayer time and will soon learn that is your time with God. Phil. 4:6-7
