Will He Keep His Promises?

Aletha Hinthorn  "Our family went through a traumatic experience that left us crushed and broken," shared Faith. "During this time of suffering and heartache, God gave me some promises that sustained me throughout the weeks and months of readjusting our lives to the changes we went through.

"One day it just seemed that God wasn't near me. I fell on my face before God and cried out to Him, but it seemed my words bounced off the wall and came back to me.
"During that time, however, it was as though I heard these words, 'Trust me in the dark. Just trust me. I'm aware of what's going on. I am in control, but I want you just to trust Me.'"

Months passed and Faith didn't see those promises fulfilled. One day she asked her husband, "Honey, do you think that God didn't really give me those promises? Maybe I was in such desperation, I just grabbed hold of them and thought they were for me. Do you think He really gave those to me?"

"I think God really gave you those. Just hold steady and keep claiming them," he said.

Faith did, and in God's perfect timing, those promises were fulfilled perfectly.

Thank You, Jesus, that You do not ignore our prayers or forget Your promises.

"You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it" (2 Chronicles 6:15).

 Memory Verse for July

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him" (1 John 5:14, 15).
