The mission of Come to the Fire is to encourage women to experience the joy of a love relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Prayer and an Angry Mob
Becky Schenck, a missionary in Papua New Guinea, described an incredible incident. One of the nationals was stabbed to death in a tavern one Saturday night.
Our Two Cents
Jesus was in the Temple watching the people drop their gifts into the collection box. When a poor widow came by and dropped in two pennies, Jesus said, “This poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has” (Luke 21:3, 4).
Waiting for Our Son’s Thank You
We told our usually grateful son that we had a gift for him on the desk in his room. I knew he would love the gift card from his favorite store. He went upstairs to his room, and I waited on the steps eager to hear his excited thanks. I wanted to share in his joy.
Making Points for Ourselves
Carol prayed for her daughter and husband to have Christian friends who would invite them to church. She was thrilled when her daughter and her husband became friends with a Christian couple and even had dinner in their home. When their new friends invited them to church, they declined. That was the end of the friendship.
Should I Cook or Pray?
“Would you pray for me, Aletha?” pleaded a friend on the phone. “I have been sick for several days, and my pain is unbearable.” Remembering her previous disinterest in God, I readily consented to pray for her. It seemed to be providential to receive such a phone call on the day I had set aside for fasting and prayer.
They Found Joy
I met Linda at a board meeting, and we stayed afterwards to talk. She said, “God asked me two years ago to quit teaching and to spend my time working with the unlovely. I miss the money, but the joy I’ve discovered is a more pure joy and more fulfilling than all the respect I enjoyed as a teacher.
Prove You Are Truly Trusting
Not only did God tell the Israelites to follow the ark into the uncrossable Jordan, the priests were to take the first step into the river. “And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap” (Joshua 3:13).
You Can Overcome Trifling Interruptions
Adrian Rogers, on his national radio program, told that Yonggi Cho, the pastor of the largest church in the world, said he has to have his prayer time. One day Dr. Cho told his secretary, “I am going to prayer, and I don’t want anyone to interrupt me—no one, unless it is the Lord Jesus.”
