Audra’s husband Kevin was acutely ill in the ICU with a sudden but unknown illness. They had been preparing to go to the mission field, and now the doctor told Audra that Kevin’s body was shutting down and he probably would not survive.

Andrew Murray noticed the universal lack of an adequate prayer life. Although everywhere he went people confessed, “We pray too little!” they seemed to fear that because of work pressure and the force of habit it was almost impossible to change.

A friend emailed something she plans to do in 2018: “Fill my free moments with praise. Some times it will be joyful praise from a place of overflowing joy and other times it will be intentional.”

Pastor Ronnie Floyd said, "I am an expert on pride." When God brought major revival to his life, the Spirit addressed his pride dramatically. It was a Saturday night in the middle of a long-term fast. After wrestling in bed and unable to sleep, feeling that God was calling him to prayer, he got up about 1:00 a.m. He was lying on the living room floor praying with his Bible open. God led him to Isaiah 57:15 that said, "I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed." In that setting deep brokenness came upon him.

“When I began my new job, there was a co-worker who was particularly difficult to work with,” John shared in Bible study. “But I thought as a Christian I should tolerate him. I felt I was doing quite a good job of tolerating him.”

Hudson Taylor knew the joy of simply trusting. "I have not known what anxiety is since the Lord taught me that the work is His," was Mr. Taylor's testimony wherever he went. "My great business in life is to please God. Walking with Him in the light, I never feel a burden."

The conference had ended and the lady assigned to take me back to the airport began to share. “Our marriage is much better now, but I had twenty years of a very bad marriage. I packed my bags mentally, but I had become a Christian and knew the Lord wanted me to stay in the marriage.
